My poem bases in Orange Juice

In our writing and speaking class, we read a poem called “Orange Juice” where someones steals the voice’s juice. Then, we had to do a poem from te thief’s perspective.  I did it with Lola Villegas and here is our poem:

Sometime ago,
I got unemployed.
I used to be wealthy,
But now everything is gone.
So,
one Monday morning,
I was walking down the street
when I saw a carton of orange juice
right in front of me.
I could not resist.
I didn’t have money,
my family was starving
and the opportunity was right beside me.
I took the juice to my family
and we drank it happily.
So on Wednesday morning
I did the same thing.
I did not care about the person who bought it,
I was very thankful
And he didn’t even noticed
when I stole it on Friday.
So,
when I poured the juice in glasses
and emptied it to the bottom,
I started screaming
because my mouth was on fire.
auch! auch!
we couldn’t feel our mouth.
I couldn’t believe
that the previous owner
had played such a cruel prank on us.
Such a lot of money the had
and they couldn’t even give up
some simple orange juice
for us to drunk up.
After that day,
I never stole juice
from that house again.
Guess the man
was now happy,
to have his juice again
and we were left with no food
for us to feed ourselves.

Then, we recorded in a voicethread:

Whose my favorite booktuber?

Our writing and speaking skills teacher gave us the assignment of watching booktubes and comment of them.

My comments of the booktubes:

  1. The first booktube I chose was the one with John Green and Ansel Elgort. I chose it because John Green is my favorite author, and Ansel Elgort was the actor of a movie based on one of John Green’s books. I really liked that book since it tackles with living your life fully. Something that I wanted to point out of this booktube, is that they speak very fluent and loud. They were not shy infront of the camara, and that is something that I will have to improve.
  2. The second booktube I will talked about is of a girl that reviews the books that she didnt like. That is an interesting idea to talk about. I think that is very creative and nice, because when we see that video, we learn which books are boring and which are not.
  3. The third booktube I am going to talk about is the one that involves music. This teenager, made her booktube about fictional characters. She talk about how she likes boys in books rater than boys in real life. That is pretty interesting because it leaves you thinking how an author creates the perfect guy which, in the point of view of this girl, does not exist.

My best holiday photo

Our writing and speaking skills teacher, Daniela Barra, told us to make a writing about our best holiday photo.

Here is mine:

On January the 28th, I was in Pinamar, Buenos Aires. I went with my beat friend called Pilar Chamizo. In that sunny day, we went to the center of the city. We went there because we wanted a waffle, and there is a place to buy some. This picture was taken on my way to the center, I took it while walking.

Before taking it, we got out of the car, with my brother and my best friend, and started walking and after this, we were eating yummy waffles!

I chose it because it brings me very funny and nostalgic memories. It was one of the best days of my life!

Here is the photo I chose:

Wanted poster

Our writing and speaking skills teacher, Daniela Barra, told us that we have to make a wanted poster of the person next to each other. We had to include his description; the day he was last seen; a reward and reasons for arrest.

Vignesh Manwani made my ¨Wanted¨ poster.

Name Chain

On our first class with our writing and speaking skills teacher,  Dani Barra, we played a game called Name Chain. To play it, someone has to go to the front and say one thing about him/her while he/she writes him/her name on the blackboard. The next person who passes to the front, has to connect a like or a dislike with what his/her partner had said and add something about him/her, while writing him/her name on the blackboard.

The purpose of this game, was to get to know each other, since we didn’t have Dani Barra last year, and there are new people in our class.

In my opinion, this was really nice and fun, because I get to know things about my partners that I didn’t know about, such as Vig playing Basketball and Benja sleeping a lot. When I passed to the front, I told my class that last year I went debating to a school named Champa, and that I liked Coldplay.

“The Impossible” writing assignment

With our writing skills teacher, Pilar Pando, we are studying how to write news reports. In the midtime, we watched “The Impossible”. So, she gave us as an assignment to write a news report about the tsunami of the movie, and a diary like if we were one of the survivals of it.

My news report:

December 26th, 2005
Anniversary Indian Ocean tsunami

It’s been a year since the Indian Ocean tsunami. This tsunami, with a magnitude of 9.1 and a depth of 30 kilometers, killed from 230.000 to 280.000 people.
It affected 14 countries and flooding communities with waves up to 30 metres long. Indonesia was the hardest-hit country, followed by India, and Thailand. It was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history.
A survival, claimed: “After coming within 15 seconds of an almost certain death one year ago today, one of the most common questions I am asked is “How did that experience change your perspective on life?” To answer that question, I look back on how awful and disastrous this was, and how I now value every second of my life”
Because of this terrible incident, AIR Worldwide is developing a complete update with a model of earthquakes for Southeast Asia, which now covers Indonesia, Philippines and Taiwan, and will be expanded to include Hong Kong, Macao, Singapur and Vietnam.

My diary:

Dear diary,
It was christmas, 2004 when I traveled looking for a way to rest from all the stress I had at home. That day, was extremely relaxing, because I had a really enjoyable flight, and the hotel was spectacular. But the next day, was the most atrocious and horrendous day I have ever had.
I woke up, and I heard desperate and noisy shoutings from people. I came out of the bed, to see what was going on. I went down to the first floor when I realize I didn’t have my key to go out. So, I went back upstairs to my floor, the twelve one. When I saw the window and noticed that a huge way, a tsunami I figured, was coming. Desperation ran through my veins, I wanted to vanish from that place because I knew I was going to die. But then, after all the shaking, I was alive, injured, but alive.
So, because of leaving my key and being clever enough to stay in the building, I’m a survivor of the Indian Ocean tsunami, one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history.

Vocabulary of Never Stop on the Motorway

Our writing skills teacher, Pilar Pando, gave us the assignment of looking up some words of the short story “Never Stop on the Motorway” and put examples, photos and the definitions in a doc. I did it with Sybilla Correa and Lola Villegas.

The Atlas Vampire Case

Our speaking skills teacher, gave us the assignment of looking up a case. I chose the “Atlas Vampire Case”
